Bruce has a keen sense of the absurdities of life. Nothing is sacred, but many things are precious. A concern for people, the environment, reconciliation and for life's mysteries and ironies runs through his songs. His serious songs are both moving and challenging, and he is not afraid to tackle the hard issues.

I grew up with the untamed wilderness of the Grose Valley as my backyard. My youth was filled with the sights, sounds and smells of eucalypt forest. My father had a passion for the bush, local history and aboriginal art and culture. My mother was a nature and animal lover who collected butterflies. She had a feisty social conscience but no voice. It’s no surprise that nature, art, history, animals, freedom, culture and family define my music.
