Lost property

September 16th, 2008 by nangamusic

What a great festival!

Several bits and pieces were left behind after the festival.

There are three that we haven’t found a home for yet:

  • a black Drizabone coat size XS 3 - looks new and expensive
  • a brown Thinsulate Flex beanie
  • a small black fold-up umbrella

Contact info@nangamusic.org.au if you think this is yours and you want it back.

No CD shop at festival

September 7th, 2008 by nangamusic

We will not be running a CD shop at the festival. We decided not to take a cut from CD sales, so it is easier for the artists to sell their own CDs. It’s better for patrons too, because they can talk direct to the artist and maybe get an autograph.

However, we will provide a table where artists can display CD cases and mailing lists.

Program now online

September 7th, 2008 by nangamusic

A fairly final program has now been put online.

Note that there may still be some changes, but they are expected to be minor.

Information about the Festival

September 6th, 2008 by nangamusic

An information sheet about the festival has been emailed to all the people who have made a booking. Further copies can be downloaded here.

This tells you how to get there and what to bring with you.

Catering details

September 3rd, 2008 by nangamusic

We can now advise that pre-booked full catering will cost $60 for the whole festival. This includes a casserole-style dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, cooked breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and soup and rolls and/or hamburgers at both lunches. It’s hearty camp food.

If you have pre-booked individual meals, the prices will be:

Breakfast

$8

Lunch

$9

Dinner

$13

If you have not pre-booked meals, we cannot guarantee that you can be fed. However, if sufficient food is available, it can be purchased for a surcharge over and above the individual meal cost. i.e. Breakfast $9; Lunch $10 and Dinner $15.

Paying for Meals

You can purchase meal tickets in the Woodshed venue on arrival at the festival. Please pay by cash or cheque because we don’t have any credit card or merchant facilities.

Donation made to folk clubs

August 1st, 2008 by nangamusic

The Nanga Music Festival committee recently met with the previous Araluen Folk Festival committee (at an Annual General Meeting) and decided to contribute some of the remaining Araluen funds to the local folk clubs who promoted the Araluen Folk Festival, encouraged its organisers and generally provided them with goodwill and comradeship over the years.

We donated $250 by way of recognition of their assistance in the past to

  • The Hills Folk Club
  • Jackadders Folk Club
  • The Mundaring Folk and Blues Club
  • The Wanneroo Folk Club

We encourage all supporters of folk and acoustic music to attend the Nanga Music Festival, so we can continue to support the WA folk and acoustic music scene.
