General comments

Booking

  • Booking process could have started earlier following the publicity.
  • Choice of top or bottom bunk when booking.
  • Quite complicated for the 1st time goers + also the BOCS staff.

Concerts

  • 60’s music not good
  • 60’s revival was disappointing -no real pop of the 60’s. At least 6 people agreed over B’fast.
  • 60’s theme too morbid. Poor song choice. Too long & boring. Bob Dylan songs not even popular ones.
  • Blackboard concert set up poorly: organ/keyboards balanced on chairs. No music stands
  • Blackboard concert: very poorly attended, as on at the same time as main performers >run at meals-before/after to guarantee an audience. Also not enough equipment (mics. & stands) for these performers.
  • Blackboard menu-organisation: limit time-some songs were too long. There was limited equipment
  • Blind date concert should be earler-so good but such a small audience. Thank You to committee.
  • Gave the chance to see everyone at a relaxed pace without rushing from venue to venue.
  • Good to have representation of all these genres.
  • Longer sets 40/45 minutes.
  • Make the individual sets longer and allow for extras.
  • Missed Raven-so if a performer has only one gig please don’t put them on first in the morning
  • More up-beat/variety would be great
  • More "up" small acoustic bands, less solo singer/songwriters.
  • Negative-solo performers who focus on their own compositions, but not widely known. Positive-acts that cater for different age groups-workshops etc.
  • Outside campfire session was an excellent idea.
  • Raven were good-should have been in a slot other than "4-20"
  • Sat. morn. Was v heavy in Aussie Bush
  • Sets were too short.
  • The quality of the performers – awesome
  • Theme Concert more upbeat plz.
  • Would prefer fewer acts, longer sets for headliners

Dance

  • A bush dance would be nice.
  • Have a bush dance. Make the individual sets loger and allow for extras.
  • Sadly no dancing-not everyone wants to sit and reminisce.
  • Sat. night we could have some concerts with lots of dancing!!
  • We need some more dancing-last 5 coins + Perth International Dancers. More multicultural music.
  • Would like to see more local music that you can dance to. Too much melancholic music brings energy level down.

Food & drink

  • Although they were very grumpy & vegie options weren’t very good. I was even asked if I was sure I was a vegetarian!
  • Could have blackboard identifying vegetarian options.
  • Fab.
  • Friday night awful- otherwise good. Love all the salad
  • Meal times need to be clarified.
  • Not great for vegetarians
  • Pretty disappointed by the food-expesive considering the vegetarian options were very limited. Whilst $14 may be good for 1/4 of a chicken & Veg., for just the veg and a
  • tablespoon of chickpeas it wasn’t great, especially being me treated with incredible rudeness by the servers + refusal to add more veg. if we weren’t having meat! Was made to feel very stupid!
  • Serve beer at gigs.
  • Tea & coffee & that caramel slice were top-and mulled wine!
  • Would rather pay more for better, but realise that doesn’t suit everyone.

Nanga

  • A few lights on paths between Currawong and Woodshed in case torch breaks. This happened to me and it was scary!!
  • Bunk space is "squeezy".
  • Camp ground very expensive, but it would not stop me returning next year.
  • Camped -but ants were a problem
  • Do something about the smell out of the men’s toilets. (4 similar comments)
  • Location-perfect from a Dwellingup local.
  • Mattresses RS-I’ll bring my own next year.
  • New curtains for the rooms
  • Self catering facilities far from camping.
  • Self catering facilities -no Knives to chop with.
  • Self catering facilities not great in Currawong.
  • Snoring not good! Hey, but what do you expect.
  • Some hooks in the cubicles would be nice
  • Tea-towels, detergent needed at the self catering facilities.
  • Wow. How Beautiful

Programme

  • 5 for info, 2 for design
  • Could we have an alphabetical list of 4/20 artists. Include State from which artists come.

Sound

  • 4 (after a shaky start!)
  • Not as good as last year.
  • Occasional vocal issue only.

Workshops

  • Another percussion workshop please.
  • Excellent. Both Fiddle Chicks & Resonators went into detail.
  • Workshops were great.

Miscellaneous

  • A real join in and sing-a-long of 60’s folk songs that are well known. Many of those selected were a bit obscure.
  • A small marquee behind Timbarra would add to the atmosphere.
  • Accomodation was noisy.
  • Another wonderful festival. We’re Dwellingup locals and are delighted to have the festival in our town. Congrats to everyone for the wonderful organisation & brilliant acts.
  • Bushwalk interesting and worthwhile. Friday night concert – a highlight – quality, diversity & balanced. Sat. -Loaded Dog campfire -Sensational! Sat. & Sun @ Currawong – GREAT!!!
  • Congratulations to the organising committee – the atmosphere was friendly and the entertainment fantastic.
  • Didn’t buy a teeshirt as I didn’t like the aggressive logo.
  • Fabulous f estival, great fun, awesome music, amazing location
  • Fantastic – had a great time.
  • Good idea tha locals get the opportunity to showcase.
  • Good to have representation of all genres.
  • Having dorm in the same place as performer space was a bit strange and a little loud at night.
  • I had a great weekend and enjoyed every minute of the festival in great surroundings. Thank you.
  • Keep it a spring festival-much rather cool/cold than hot & the fires are lovely.
  • More acapella and more informal campfire stuff singalong.
  • More blues, roots & world.
  • More could be done using bush settings instead of 3 venues.
  • More world music.
  • Need to make people staying in "Woodshed" aware of S/C facilities in advance.
  • Overall congratulations on a brilliant festival..keep up it’s integrity
  • Sheltered areas at Foodhall & Currawong to enable performers to jam/practise/perform during quiet times/prior to performing.
  • Something idigenous + more of the same.
  • The Campsite singalong is an aspect that is a wonderful opportunity for participation and it is a unique offering at this festival.
  • The quality of performers: Very wide variety from 3 to 5.
  • Volunteers to ensure individuals feel safe moving between venues at night
  • Well done everyone involved.
  • Would like to see more local music that you can dance to. Too much melancholic music brings energy
