There are three ways you can be involved in semi-formal performance options during the Festival, as well as the late-night campfire jams.
Blind date concert
The blind date concert will be held on Sunday afternoon. Patrons and artists can volunteer for the blind date concert by putting their name on the blackboard in Currawong (at latest), before going to lunch on Saturday.
Do not put someone else's name down, please.
Performers will be allocated into small groups (3 or more, depending on numbers, with one artist per group), to come up with a 10 minute performance piece for the blind date concert.
We encourage you to do something creative, not just sing a song which one of you wrote. Humour is a hallmark of the blind date concert.
Open mike sessions in “The Listening Space”
During lunch and dinner times our Café style “Listening Space” will be open in the Gallery (adjacent to the washing up area at Woodshed). This will operate on a similar basis as a blackboard concert, but is intended to be a quiet listening space for those wishing to enjoy the music while they eat. If you want to chat during meals, please stay in Woodshed. This is intended for general festival patrons wanting to ‘put their toes in the water' of performance. If you are a 'seasoned' performer, please give these people an opportunity. You can put your name on the blackboard in Woodshed from Saturday morning. Each act gets 2 songs or max 10 minutes.
Poets Breakfast
On Sunday morning Peter Capp will be hosting our ever popular Poets’ Breakfast in the “Dining Room” at Woodshed. Peter will MC the session and is of course a poet extra ordinaire in his own right. But here is your chance to recite some of your own verse or some which you have learned from an other’s pen. This is always a very entertaining session, often delivering some real surprises and some belly laughs. So come armed with a poem
