Frequently asked questions

The Nanga Music Festival’s venues for 2024 will be the Pinjarra Civic Centre and Fairbridge Village. The festival enjoyed years of generous sponsorship from its previous venue, Nanga Bush Camp – but a change of ownership led to the need for a new home.  Our new venues are thanks to the continuing support of the Shire of Murray and our new partner, Fairbridge Village

From 2025 onward, we expect that the whole festival will be contained within Fairbridge Village, and will remain a small, one-stage festival. We’re sure you know that music festivals everywhere are having quite a time of it right now. Support acoustic music by coming on the journey with us this year!

This is a transition year for us. Friday’s opening night dinner and concert will be held at Fairbridge Village Dining Hall. Saturday and Sunday’s programs and meals will be at the Pinjarra Civic Centre, a pleasant, well-maintained venue seating up to 300 in its Main Hall. Accommodation will be at Fairbridge Village.  Four catered meals will be offered – Friday night dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch.  As previously, you need to pre-book a separate ticket for these.

The festival will retain most of its familiar features, including the Listening Gallery (open mic), Blind Date Concert and Saturday singalong. The Youth Scholarship will return next year.
The Civic Centre doors will open at 9.30 am for a 10am start.
The Listening Gallery will run from 12.45 – 1.40pm on Saturday in the Civic Centre secondary hall.

Located 11 km north of Pinjarra on the South-West Highway, Fairbridge Village is a heritage-listed property still in use. The venue has a lot of history – established as a farm school, it now hosts programs supporting young people, including a special needs school. The Village also hires heritage cottages and facilities for group events.

You can book a festival ticket without accommodation and book yourself into private digs in the Pinjarra area.

If you are unable to get accommodation at Fairbridge Village or would prefer to make your own arrangements you can book a festival ticket without accommodation and book direct with private providers in the Pinjarra area.

You can book your tickets from 20 July. More information

Festival accommodation is communal-style in cottages. By communal, we mean the bedroom doors don’t lock; it isn’t practical to lock the cottages; bathrooms and kitchens are shared. Each cottage has a kitchen equipped with all the basic equipment.

Each cottage is unique. The cottages have been renovated to varying standards; some come with linen supplied and some do not; and the numbers of beds (including bunks) varies from room to room. Thus the cost per bed varies between $55 for 2 nights and $120 for 2 nights.

Floor plans for cottages are available from the Fairbridge Village website.

Because the festival has to buy whole cottages rather than per bed, we need to fill whole cottages and will open them a few at a time. Please take the time to look at cottage floor plans before booking your accommodation and ticket.  A few special points to note:

  • There are a few rooms for two with double or queen beds.  These will go very fast. If you choose one of these you must book two tickets.  If you don’t, we will move you.
  • We will designate some rooms as male-only and female-only.
  • If you book as a small group of 3 to 5, you may be able to book a whole room. If you have a group of 3 to 5 and can’t get a room for that number, contact the amazing Bev on bookings@nangamusic.org.au who will do her best to accommodate you.
  • We may need to contact you after you make your booking to rearrange beds and ensure rooms are filled, so make sure your contact details are correct and please respond promptly.
  • If you have a campervan – not a camper-trailer or a caravan — and would like to stay on site at Fairbridge Village, please email bookings@nangamusic.org.au as soon as possible for further instructions. We may have some special provisions for just a few campervans this year.
  • Any other special needs? Email bookings@nangamusic.org.au  We will do our best to help.
  • Arrival at the village any time after 2pm. Check-in time is 2.30pm
  • Check-out is at 10am

Good, so will we! Email bookings@nangamusic.org.au as soon as possible. If there is sufficient demand we will designate a cottage or cottages for this purpose.

You can book a festival ticket without accommodation and book yourself into camp at one of the several local caravan parks.

From 2025 on, limited campers will be welcomed on the oval at Fairbridge Village. (Why not this year? The oval is already in use.)

Great! Please email bookings@nangamusicfestival.com as soon as possible.
