Youth Scholarship opportunities 2026
Applications must be in by the 31st July!
The Nanga Music Festival invites applications in the accoustic style from young and emerging songwriter/performers up to age 24.

Two scholarship winners will be selected. The winners receive free entry and accommodation to the festival; mentoring in songwriting and/or performance from an established acoustic musician, and the opportunity to perform two of their own songs at the Nanga Music Festival 4th October 2026 at Fairbridge Village, Pinjarra.
Applicants should have some performance experience but this can be at an entry level, for instance a school concert, busking or a concert they have organised for friends.
The Application process is simple — we will need
- your name, age and contact details
- a sentence or two about yourself
- some information on your recent performances
- an email with a recording of yourself singing and playing an acoustic / unplugged song that you wrote yourself or some links to your social media or music media posts of a suitable song

2025 Nanga Music Festival Youth scholarship winners!
Dune Horabin
Dune grew up surrounded by music and has been writing and performing for four years now. Dune loves storytelling; poetry and narrative writing are massive parts of their life and they strive to make their songs interesting, not only musically, but also lyrically. Dune has performed with their band Aperture at Mojo’s Bar, Clancy’s Fish Pub and the Fremantle Town Hall and is pumped to perform at Nanga with guitar accompaniment from their friend Sasha Cope.
Birdland
Birdland is an original band from Perth/Boorloo, made up of 3 brothers, they have been writing and releasing music since 2023. With influences like Mk. Gee, John Mayer and Grent Perez, the band creates a sound that is energetic and melodic but also has a timeless feel.
